WELCOME! WHO AM I?
Mayuko Yamashita is an international music consultant, pianist and educator particularly active in contemporary music. She enjoys working with composers of her generation and has performed widely, not only in her native Japan, but in the United States, United Kingdom, Spain, Finland and Australia. In 2014, she collaborated with Jacque Tys, principal-oboist of the Orchestre de l´Opéra de Paris. In 2012, she was invited to play at the BBC Proms series for a BBC Radio 3 broadcast, and was also presented, as a chamber musician, by La Fundación Eutherpe (Spain).
Mayuko Yamashita holds a Master of Performance in Contemporary Piano from the Royal College of Music, London and recently completed an Advanced Certificate at NYU Steinhardt under the direction of Marilyn Nonken. During her time at the Royal College of Music, she was awarded the prestigious John and Jean Redcliffe Maud prize. Mayuko is the founder and owner of several music studios including Piano Lessons NYC, Violin Lessons NYC, Guitar Lessons NYC, Piano Lessons London and Piano Lessons Tokyo / ピアノ教室東京. In addition to running her music studios she is also an experienced ballet accompanist.
